Supporting Barnet’s elections |
||
|
Tomorrow more than six million Londoners are eligible to vote in the local elections. The Met will have hundreds of officers deployed right across the city, to help residents vote safely and privately.
We know residents of Barnet may feel particularly concerned at the moment. Following recent attacks on the Jewish community, the Met has stepped up activity across the capital, deploying thousands of extra officer shifts to protect Londoners alongside intensified investigations leading to arrests. Antisemitism, hatred and violence have no place in our city.
Every area has it own localised plan for polling day and, in light of recent events, Barnet residents might notice a heightened policing presence. That doesn’t mean there is something to worry about, or that a polling station or area is subject to threats – it’s just part of our increased presence at the moment and our role to support the democratic process.
Our officers are there to help you feel safe and prevent any crime and disorder. | ||
